OAKLAND — Police arrested a man about one hour after he allegedly stabbed a woman to death. The suspect is being housed behind bars ineligible for release on bond, pending a plea hearing on September 28.
Jose D. Guardadolora , a 21-year-old resident of San Francisco, was arrested September 7 at 7:09 p.m. He was taken into custody about a half mile away from where he allegedly killed the victim.
Vanessa Rodriguez-Cermeno, 22, was found lying in the roadway on the 9700 block of D Street in East Oakland. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene at approximately 6 p.m.
Oakland officers arrested Guardadolora in front of a house at 1254 90 th Avenue. He was booked at Alameda County’s Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
Guardadolora and Rodriguez-Cermeno knew each other. The suspect was in a position of trust
and the victim considered vulnerable to him.
A case against Guardadolora was presented to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.
Consequently, he now faces eight felony charges, including murder PC 187 (A)
