Fresno police have arrested a man in connection to a recent alleged shooting at a taqueria on Olive Avenue.

On the evening of Friday, September 9, officers responded to Bobby Salazar’s Taqueria for a report of a shooting. By the time officers arrived, the involved parties had all fled, police said.

Investigating officers learned that a group of men had gotten into some sort of altercation with security guards on the premises after reportedly being refused entry to the taqueria. One of the men allegedly retrieved a firearm from a nearby vehicle and fired three rounds into the air, damaging the taqueria’s front overhang, police said.

Most of the incident was captured on surveillance video, which investigators later obtained. The footage led to the identification of 28-year-old John Alonso, a known gang member, as the suspected shooter.

Alonso was located and arrested on the morning of Thursday, September 15, and booked on felony charges related to the incident, police said.
