A Muscoy man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a neighbor with a brick, threatened police with a gun, and barricaded himself inside a garage.
Antonio Quintero, 53, was arrested by SWAT deputies and booked on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, and felony vandalism.
The incident began around 4:45 AM on September 16th, when someone called to report Quintero for vandalizing a residence in the 2400 block of 3rd Avenue in Muscoy, in the county of San Bernardino. Quintero had been throwing bricks at his neighbor’s window, which subsequently broke it. As he continued throwing them through the window, at least one of the bricks hit his neighbor in the stomach.
“When deputies attempted contact with Quintero, he barricaded himself inside a detached garage,” said Deputy M. Andrade of Central Station. “Quintero briefly exited, pointed a firearm at deputies and retreated inside the garage.”
A SWAT team responded to address the situation, and Quintero was arrested after only a short stand-off.
A flare gun that had been modified to shoot bullets was recovered at the scene.
