Suspect Arrested in Lakeport Bicycle Store Burglary; Public Assistance Sought in Locating Bicycle

“Early Saturday morning, August 27, 2022 we responded to Konocti Bicycles on Main Street to investigate the report of a burglary. The front display window was smashed out and a $2300.00 2022 Scott Scale 940 bicycle was taken by the suspect.
Sgt. Victor Rico investigated the case and identified the suspect as Kayden Daniel Collins, age 27, of Lakeport, CA. This morning Sgt. Rico and Officer Altamirano located Collins near Clear Lake off the east end of First Street and arrested him for felony burglary, grand theft, and vandalism. He was booked into the Lake County Correctional Facility. The cost to replace the window is $2000.00 bringing the total loss to the victim to $4300.00.
The bicycle has not yet been located and we are seeking public assistance regarding the whereabouts of the bicycle. Anyone with information can contact us at 707-263-5491 or email Sgt Rico at vrico@lakeportpolice.org A photo of the bicycle is attached.
Collins is well known to our agency as we have had 27 interactions with him in 2022 including him being a suspect in 9 cases, with 7 warrants issued and 5 arrests. These cases include counterfeiting, domestic violence, brandishing a weapon, burglary, resisting arrest, and assault with a deadly weapon.
