BERKELEY — A woman with prior arrests for vandalism is now in trouble for allegedly trying to kidnap children. Dominque S. Walker, 36, of Berkeley, is scheduled to appear for a pretrial hearing October 26.
Walker allegedly tried to kidnap at least six children. The victims included both girls and boys, between 12 to 15 years old. None were reported injured.
The suspect was arrested October 5 at 10:45 a.m., while driving near the North Berkeley BART train station. Walker was booked at Santa Rita Jail and held in lieu of $20,000 bo

She is believed responsible for attempted kidnappings in September and August.
Information from witnesses helped detectives identify the suspect.
In a prepared statement Berkeley police described four incidents:
A 12-year-old boy was approached September 20 at 5:30 p.m. while riding his scooter, near Sacramento and Addison streets. The suspect stopped her car and tried to convince the boy to get into her car. The boy was followed by the suspect until he eluded her.
A 15-year-old boy was approached September 14 at 6:10 p.m., near Allston Way and Grant Street. The suspect tried to entice him towards her vehicle.
A 13-year-old girl was approached August 29 at 6 p.m., while walking near Allston Way and McKinley Avenue. The suspect stopped her car and tried to coax the girl into the car.
A 14-year-old boy was approached August 29 at 5:30 p.m. The boy was working in the front yard of his family’s residence on the 2200 block of Jefferson Avenue. The suspect tried to take his hand.
