“On October 3, 2022, a 21-year old victim contacted the Davis Police Department reporting a person known to him had just brandished a firearm at the intersection of Olive Drive and Richards
Blvd following a short dispute at a nearby business. Following the dispute, both had left in vehicles and when they stopped for a red light, the victim got out of his vehicle to speak to the suspect, 19-year old Davis Resident Isaac Salas. Salas exited his vehicle, pulled out a gun, and pointed it at the victim. The suspect then got back in his car and left.
The Davis Police Department Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Unit (COPPS Unit) and detectives from the Investigations Division served a Yolo County Search warrant at Salas’ residence in the 2000 block of F Street on October 5, 2022. During the warrant service, detectives located a loaded, privately manufactured firearm, which is believed to be the same weapon used in the assault, in the suspect’s vehicle.
Salas was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon, exhibiting a firearm in a threatening manner, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and possession of an illegally manufactured firearm.”
