Santa Rosa PD Detectives Investigating 2 Recent Assaults of Women

“The Santa Rosa Police Department is currently investigating two recent reports of assaults against female residents.
Santa Rosa Police Department Case #22-12059
On October 14, 2022, at 9:56 pm, a woman in her late 50’s was walking in the 600-block of Middle Rincon Rd. The victim heard a noise behind her and turned around. An adult male walked up to her and covered her mouth. The suspect then knocked the victim to the ground. The victim immediately started to kick at the suspect and scream. The suspect fled the area via the creek path. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect was described as a Black or Hispanic adult male, physically fit with a medium/athletic build, 5’6” to 5’11”, short/curly hair, and wearing a dark “jogger” style outfit.
Anyone living in this neighborhood who has personal surveillance cameras is encouraged to check their footage. If you have a video or pictures from October 14th of a subject that matches the above description, please contact our Investigations Bureau at 707-543-3590.
Santa Rosa Police Department Case #22-12201
On October 18, 2022, at 7:30 am, a woman in her early 60’s was walking on the east side of the pond in A Place to Play park at 2375 W Third Street. An unknown male approached the victim. The male suspect grabbed the victim and tried to kiss her forcefully. The suspect then threw the victim to the ground. The victim immediately fought the suspect, but the suspect was able to unbuckle and loosen the victim’s belt. The victim continued to fight the suspect causing the suspect to run from the area. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic adult male in his late 20’s to early 30’s, approximately 5’4”, 160-170 pounds, clean-shaven face, and dark “frizzy” hair. The suspect was wearing a yellow/mustard colored shirt and a red or black knitted cap.

Follow-Up:
Detectives from the SRPD Violent Crime Team and the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Team are investigating these incidents. There is no indication that these cases are linked, but they do have similar circumstances. We want the community to be safe, so please be aware of your surroundings, and if you were a victim of a similar incident, please call our Dispatch Center to make a report.”
