Riverside, CA – In May of 2022, Riverside Police Department opened an investigation into an alleged sexual assault that had taken place at Serenity Thai Massage on the 3700 block of Nelson Street, according to a department press release.
Over the next few months, police identified the suspect as Pantanan Gunkhunthod (31) of Menifee, an employee at the business. On October 27, Mr. Gunkhunthod was arrested and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center. He was booked on suspicion of sexual penetration by force and sexual battery, and is being held on $50,000 bail.
Another complaint was reportedly made about the same location a few months prior to the current investigation, but detectives found there was too little information to sustain an allegation. Although this previous allegation was not sustained, detectives believe there are more victims who have not come forward.
Anyone with additional information regarding this investigation and arrest is urged to contact Detective Cory Camp at (951) 353-7950 or CCamp@RiversideCA.gov.
