Irvine Police are warning the public about the activities of Retan Munteanu (24) of Romania, whom they say is a skilled scammer who has bilked many businesses around the world.
He “scams by sleight of hand” when handling cash purchases, able to distract and confuse businesses by removing bills while they’re being counted, police said.
His most recent hit was a jewelry store in Irvine, where he allegedly scammed them out of $1,900 dollars.
