On-Duty Placer County Deputy Reportedly Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

A Placer County sheriff’s deputy was recently arrested on-duty after allegedly showing up to a service call intoxicated.

The Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that newly hired deputy Allahno Hughes (35) arrived at the scene of a service call on the morning of Saturday, November 12, and was soon confronted by fellow on-scene deputies who suspected that he was drunk.

CHP were called to the scene and submitted Hughes to a field sobriety test, which revealed his blood-alcohol level to be 0.13%, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Hughes was arrested on suspicion of of DUI and booked at the South Placer jail, but later posted bail. He was terminated from his job and is no longer employed by the Sheriff’s Office.
