A San Jose man was recently arrested for allegedly brandishing a firearm at three juveniles back in September.

Police identified Sumeet Khaira (20) as the suspect in an alleged incident on the evening of September 23, in which he is accused of brandishing a handgun from his vehicle at three juveniles who were walking along McLaughlin Avenue.

Gun and magazine allegedly found in Khaira’s vehicle

Khaira made verbal comments toward them before allegedly pointing a gun at them, which was affixed with a high-capacity magazine, and then speeding off, police said.

The juveniles then called 9-1-1.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Khaira and took him into custody on November 3. The firearm and an illegal high-capacity magazine were found in his vehicle at the time of the arrest, police said.

Khaira was booked at the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing a firearm.
