Suspect in Fatal Orange County Thanksgiving Shooting Turns Himself In

COSTA MESA — On November 24 at 6:45 pm, Costa Mesa Police responded to a suspected shooting on the 400 block of West Bay Street.

When officers arrived they found five victims, all suffering gunshot wounds.

Two of the victims were transported to a trauma center hospital, where one victim passed away. The other is reportedly in stable condition.

The other three were taken to nearby hospitals, where one victim is reportedly in critical condition and the other two are stable.

Costa Mesa Police closed down the street and began investigating the incident as a homicide. Detectives and CSI arrived and evaluated the scene, concluding that this was an isolated incident.

While working throughout the night, detectives discovered that a male suspect had fled in a black Chevrolet truck eastbound on Bay Street.

In the early morning hours of November 25, 2022, the suspect, identified Lee Walker (41) of Santa Ana, turned himself in.
