On November 18th, Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call reporting a man aiming a gun at people. As the Deputies were arriving to the scene it was reported that the suspect had fled in a vehicle.
The suspect was identified as Roger TaylorMoore (29). CHP Officers located the suspect vehicle and began a high-risk traffic stop.
The CHP Officer’s were able to remove all of the occupants from the vehicle and detain them without incident. As the Officer’s were searching the suspects they located a loaded firearm and a fixed blade knife on TaylorMoore.
As the Deputies began their investigation they spoke to all parties involved. This included witnesses at the scene and to the victim.
The victim reported that he had first seen TaylorMoore as he trespassed onto the trailer park property where he lived. He then told TaylorMoore to leave. A short while later the victim heard a loud verbal dispute happening outside. As he went to investigate he observed TaylorMoore and a neighbor in an aggressive argument. He was able to recognize the suspect as the man who he had asked to leave earlier.
The victim went over to try and help the neighbor by asking TaylorMoore once again to leave immediately. The suspect then pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the victim and threatened to kill him.
TaylorMoore was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Deputies. He argued with Deputies while being arrested, and was being physically non compliant. As he was being put into the cruiser the suspect attempted push himself off of the doorframe against the Deputies. Eventually the Deputies were able to safely get TaylorMoore into the vehicle.
TaylorMoore is being held at Dambacher Detention Center. He is faces charges of making criminal threats, carrying a concealed dagger, brandishing a firearm in public, carrying a concealed firearm and obstructing or resisting a peace officer.
