Orange County DA Searches for Further Victims in Child Sex Abuse Case

The Orange County District Attorney’s office is asking for the communities help in an on-going Child Sexual Abuse Case.
Sonny Angel Cabugao Boloico (39) is in custody. He is being charged with sexually assaulting a teenage girl, and distributing videos he secretly recorded of the incident which he then used to make child pornography.
Orange County PD arrested Boloico on October 31st for the crimes against his teenage victim. He will be arraigned on December 16 of this year. He faces a total 11 years and 4 months if convicted. He is being held on $500,000 bail at the Theo Lacy Facility.
Boloico has worked extensively with children for many years. Since 2012 he worked for multiple schools and churches in the areas of Laguna Niguel, Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Tustin and Orange Counties. He was a Children’s Ministry Director, Taught Music, Dance, Drama and worked as a Leader at an after school program.
Some of the other organizations he was affiliated with are Community Roots Academy in Laguna Niguel, the Orange County Children’s Therapeutic Arts Center in Santa Ana, The Southeastern California-OC Grace Church in Garden Grove, Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Tustin, Storeybook Creative Dance in Orange County, and most recently the Subacute Healthcare Center in Costa Mesa where he worked elderly patients.
Due to the nature of the crimes committed against his victim and the access he had to multiple children throughout the years, the District Attorney believes that there may be further victims out there that have not come forward, and is seeking the communities assistance to identify any other victims of these horrible crimes.
Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer stated, “Parents should have the peace of mind that the teachers and clergy they have around their children are there to teach them not to prey on them. It is unconscionable that this individual used a position of trust to groom his young victim and exploit her vulnerability in such a sick and twisted way.”
