A San Jose youth counselor has reportedly been arrested for the alleged sexual assault of an underage girl.
Police announced in a media release that they had identified 27-year-old Silvio Yoc-Aguilar as the primary suspect in the alleged sexual assault of a minor, following a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
During an interview on November 28, the victim reportedly told detectives of multiple instances of inappropriate sexual contact in a classroom at Hubbard Middle School, where Yoc-Aguilar was working as a youth counselor for the organization New Hope For Youth.
The next day, investigators arrested Yoc-Aguilar at his home and booked him on multiple counts of sexual assault.
Investigators believe there could be more victims “due to the suspect’s position as a person of trust at the school,” and are encouraging anyone with information related to Yoc-Aguilar or the investigation to contact Detective Zanotto or Detective O’Grady of the SJPD’s ICAC/CED Unit at 3657[at]sanjoseca.gov (for Zanotto) and/or 4290[at]sanjoseca.gov (for O’Grady), or to call (408) 537-1381.
