Horseback Chase in Folsom Leads to Multiple Arrests for Retail Theft

Two people were recently arrested after allegedly stealing about $10,000 worth of merchandise at the Folsom Premium Outlets.

According to a media release from Folsom PD, on the afternoon of Friday, December 9, Folsom PD patrol officers on horseback at the Folsom Premium Outlets came upon a trio of individuals with armfuls of clothing they had seemingly just stolen from one of the stores.

The officers mounted on horseback, pursued the individuals and radioed for additional units to respond. One of the individuals managed to evade officers, but two were ultimately detained with the assistance of a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office helicopter.

Officers reportedly discovered over $10,000 worth of merchandise allegedly stolen from at least two stores.

The individuals — identified as Damon Hooker (27) and Rodney Moultrie (22) — were arrested on suspicion of grand theft, organized retail theft, and conspiracy to commit a crime, and were booked at the Sacramento County jail.

Detectives continue to pursue leads to identify the third suspect.
