Fresno police have issued arrest warrants for two suspects identified in connection to a fatal shooting outside a local smoke shop.

Joseph Riley

According to a department media release, officers responded around midday on Wednesday, December 12, to reports of shots fired in the area of Superior Smoke Shop on North Blackstone Avenue.

Responding officers reportedly located two victims, both adult males. One victim, identified as 26-year-old Joseph Riley, had sustained several gunshot wounds to his torso and was later pronounced deceased at an area medical center.

The second victim, age 19, had sustained a gunshot wound to the face but survived, police said.

Homicide detectives quickly identified the primary suspects in the shooting as 20-year-old Tishawn Thorton and a 16-year-old juvenile, both of whom have since had warrants issued for their arrests.

Both suspects are considered armed and dangerous and are not to be approached.

While the juvenile’s name and photo have been omitted due to their age, a photo of Thorton accompanies this story. Anyone who sees Thorton is highly encouraged to immediately contact the Fresno Police Department.
