Ventura County, Ca. December 22, 2022 – When Oxnard area transient Stephen Robert Kuklenski ignores the terms of his felony parole, he apparently sets out to do so in a fairly big way.
Kuklenski, 42, and fellow Oxnard transient 42-year-old Kirsti Sunshine Cull were both arrested on the afternoon of December 21 st when a deputy attached to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Headquarters Division on routine patrol through a commercial agricultural area spotted them on the wrong side of a fence, trespassing on private property.
According to VCSD spokesman Sgt. Kevin Kipp, the deputy made contact with Kuklenski and Cull and quickly determined that each had “active warrants for their arrest.” As the deputy was taking the pair into custody, they were found to be in possession of “a quantity of methamphetamine, a short barreled assault rifle and a loaded high capacity magazine.” Due to their felony records and parole status, both Kuklenski and Cull are “prohibited persons from possession firearms and ammunition.”
It was further determined that the pair were trespassing in an area where crimes of burglary, vehicle break-ins, and narcotics violations have recently been rampant throughout the unincorporated areas of Oxnard and Ventura County. They were then transported to Ventura County Jail, where they were booked on a raft of charges that included Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Possession of Ammunition by a Prohibited Person, Possession of a Short Barreled Rifle, Possession of an Assault Weapon, Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm, Carry a Concealed Firearm Upon a Person, Possession of a Firearm in Violation of Probation, False Information to a Peace Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed, and Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance While in Possession of a Loaded Firearm, with their bail set at $500,000 each.
