A suspect has been arrested in connection to several alleged thefts in both Sacramento and Placer Counties.
The Sheriff’s Office announced in a press release that 39-year-old Charles Colombo has been identified as the suspect in an alleged theft spree in Sacramento County, as well as thefts in Placer County.
Deputies in Placer County responded on December 9 to a reported burglary in Granite Bay, which had taken place a week prior, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The victim told deputies that the trailer he keeps his tools in had been broken into, and that around $4,000 in tools as well as construction tile had been taken. Surveillance video obtained from the area reportedly showed a black pickup truck in the area the week prior, and deputies identified the truck’s owner as Colombo.
Colombo was thus tied not only to an alleged theft spree in Sacramento and the trailer burglary in Granite Bay, but several alleged package thefts throughout Granite Bay.
On December 20, Sacramento and Placer County authorities served a search warrant at Colombo’s home on Oroville, where they reportedly recovered stolen items from the trailer.
Colombo was arrested and booked on suspicion of burglary, concealing stolen property, and committing a felony while free on bail.
