FULLERTON — On December 26, 2022, the Fullerton Police Department responded to the 1800 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue at 4:54 PM regarding an incident in which a man confronted another man he suspected of sending inappropriate messages to a 14-year-old girl.
The latter individual was identified as John Gradney (57) of Fullerton. At the time, officers did not have enough evidence to make an arrest.
They did, however, learn of important information that could be provided “at a later time,” police said in a press release.
Detectives opened an investigation into the allegations and contacted the original party that had reported the confrontation.
During the follow up, detectives obtained enough information and evidence to arrest Gradney.
On December 28, 2022, at 11:34 am, John Gradney was arrested by Fullerton Police Detectives for alleged contact with a minor with the intent to have sex and sending harmful matter to seduce a minor.
