Oklahoma Girl, 12, Held for Alleged Fatal Stabbing of 9-Year-Old Brother

A 12-year-old in Oklahoma has reportedly been taken into police custody for the alleged fatal stabbing of her 9-year-old brother.

The Tulsa Police Riverside Division announced the tragic incident in a media release on Friday, January 6.

The release stated that officers responded to the 1000 block of 64th Place South late on the night of Thursday, January 5, for a report of a stabbing, and that paramedics and firefighters were already at the scene performing CPR on the boy by the time they arrived.

The boy was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery, but was pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 AM on January 6.

The suspect was identified as the boy’s older sister, age 12. Police say the children’s parents had been asleep upstairs when their daughter woke them up and told them she’d stabbed her brother.

The girl was taken into police custody and booked at the Family Center for Juvenile Justice.

The Tulsa Police Child Crisis Unit is handling the investigation, police said.
