Fresno police have arrested a primary suspect in connection to a fatal shooting in early December of last year.

In a press release, police identified 24-year-old Arthur Lopez as the man suspected in the murder of Bernardo Coronado, 42.

Police responded on the afternoon of Sunday, December 11, to an apartment complex on East Lane Avenue for a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers discovered Coronado lying in the roadway, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

Despite life-saving efforts by Fresno Fire and first responders, Coronado ultimately died at the scene, police said.

On Monday, January 9 of this year, plainclothes detectives intercepted Lopez as he was leaving an apartment complex on South Holly Avenue and took him into custody.
