Police in Santa Rosa recently arrested two people after thousands of dollars of stolen merchandise was discovered during a probation search, according to a department media release.

On the morning of Sunday, January 8, police conducted a probation search at a motel room on Cleveland Avenue occupied by two individuals, identified as 31-year-old Claudia Gonzalez-Ortega and 35-year-old Driden Adrian Estrada.

Both were on probation and thus subject to law enforcement search, with Estrada reportedly having active warrants out of Sonoma and Napa Counties, police said.

Officers searched the motel room and reportedly discovered over $9,000 in allegedly stolen items, many of which appeared to be from a local department store, including the jacket Estrada was wearing at the time.

The items, over seventy in total, were ultimately seized by law enforcement, police said.

Both individuals were arrested and booked on suspicion of felony possession of stolen property, probation violation, and other charges.
