“Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery Homicide Division detectives arrested 46-year-old Danny Reece, a resident of Los Angeles for the murder of Jerry Israel.
On January 2, 2023, at approximately 11:20 p.m., the body of Jerry Israel was discovered by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel after extinguishing a vehicle fire (Recreational Vehicle) near the intersection of Browning Boulevard and Budlong Avenue, in Southwest Division.
The investigation revealed that Reece, had been involved in a dispute with the owner of the RV a few hours prior to the fire. That dispute led to Reece’s arrest for a misdemeanor crime. Reece was later released from custody. Based on witness statements and video evidence, detectives concluded that Reece was the person responsible for setting the fire which led to Jerry Israel’s death.
On January 3, 2023, Southwest Area Patrol Officers observed Reece walking a short distance from the crime scene. Reece was arrested and booked at Metropolitan Detention Center for 187 PC- Murder (Booking# 6528799). His bail was set for $2,000,000.
On January 5, 2023, DDA J. Roberts, Target Crimes, filed one count of Murder (187 PC) on Danny Reece.
