A Sacramento County elementary school teacher has been arrested on suspicion of lewd conduct involving a juvenile victim, and is also accused of sexual assault by a second victim.
In a media release to their Facebook page, the Sacramento Police Department identified 62-year-old Kim Wilson, a teacher at Del Paso Heights Elementary School, as the suspect.
The investigation that ultimately led to Wilson’s arrest began in 2019 when the Twin Rivers Unified Police Department received a report of alleged lewd conduct by a teacher at Del Paso Heights Elementary in 2014. Twin Rivers police conducted a follow-up investigation, including interviewing the victim and their family.
After identifying Wilson as the suspect, Twin Rivers police forwarded the case to Sacramento PD. For reasons yet unknown, the case was suspended at the time. The department has opened a separate investigation into this decision, police said.
At some point recently, Sacramento police received another report from a second juvenile victim who alleged that Wilson had sexually assaulted them as well. Detectives with the Sacramento Police Department Sexual Assault/Child Abuse division took up the case.
On January 18 of this year, detectives served multiple search warrants in connection to the investigation, including at Wilson’s home. Detectives reportedly seized numerous articles of evidence. Two days later, on January 20, detectives arrested Wilson on charges related to the 2019 report from Twin Rivers PD.
Wilson was booked on seventeen counts of lewd acts with a child and one count of possession of child pornography.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, and anyone with information relevant to the case, including anyone who may have been a victim of Wilson, is highly encouraged to contact Sacramento PD at (916) 808-0170.
