Man Arrested after Pair Allegedly Caught Living in Shed on Little League Property

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a man who’d allegedly burglarized a shed at Burney Little League Baseball Park and was later allegedly found living in it with his girlfriend.

According to a department media release, deputies responded to the park on the morning of Saturday, January 23, to investigate reports that a man was living in a shed on the property.

Responding deputies contacted Jon Gonzalez, whom they reportedly found living in the shed with his partner. During this contact, the Little League treasurer arrived to secure the snack bar after it had been left open following an unreported burglary, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Items allegedly stolen from the snack bar were later found in Gonzalez’s possession, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Gonzalez was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of burglary, while Gonzalez’s partner was reportedly left at the scene to gather the pair’s belongings from the property.
