Man Arrested for Allegedly Discharging Gun in Residential Area

Banning Police recently arrested a man on suspicion of negligently discharging a firearm.

According to a media release via Facebook, police responded shortly after 12 AM on December 29, 2022, to a report of someone firing a gun in a residential area.

Officers arriving on scene contacted 24-year-old Russell Angel Miranda Jr., whom they identified as the suspect responsible for the gunshots. Officers also found that Miranda Jr. had a prior felony conviction and was currently on Post Release Community Supervision.

After officers recovered the firearm believed to have been used, Miranda Jr. was arrested on suspicion of willful discharge in a grossly negligent manner, felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of ammunition.
