“On January 19, 2023, at approximately 9:30 pm, deputies from the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1000 Block of Monterey Salinas Highway 68, Salinas on a report of a family disturbance.
During the investigation, deputies developed probable cause to believe Whitney Stolich, a 47-year-old female resident of Topanga, CA, had attempted to kill her mother. She was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on attempted murder charges.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office then began conducting further investigation into the incident. Detectives obtained a search warrant from a Monterey County Superior Court judge and served the warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Monterey Salinas Highway 68, Salinas.
Through the furtherance of their investigation detectives developed probable cause to believe James Stolich, a 51-year-old male resident of San Francisco, CA was involved in the incident and he was subsequently arrested for criminal conspiracy, attempted murder and elder abuse. Bail for Whitney Stolich and James Stolich was set at 2,000,000.
