Adult and Two Juveniles Arrested in Connection to Fatal Stabbing of Santa Rosa Man
Santa Rosa Police have arrested three people, all of whom are reportedly related, in connection to a fatal stabbing late last month.
According to a press release posted to Facebook, police had responded on the night of January 25 to a report of a fight near the intersection of Dutton and Sebastopol. Responding officers were reportedly told that the fight had involved three men, and that two of them had fled in a green Honda sedan.
Officers arrived at the scene and located a man, identified only as a 22-year-old male, unresponsive and suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was later pronounced dead at an area hospital, police said.
Officers soon located the vehicle, unoccupied, on the 100 block of West Barham Avenue, and the suspects themselves at a nearby residence. Two of the suspects were identified as 17-year-old juveniles, police said, and the one adult suspect was identified as 52-year-old Enrique Sanchez.
SRPD Violent Crimes detectives took over the investigation and determined that the three individuals had been in an altercation with the victim prior to the stabbing, and that two of the three had allegedly assaulted and stabbed the victim before getting into the waiting Honda being driven by the third.
Police said that all three suspects are related, but the press release did not elaborate further.
All three were arrested on suspicion of murder. Sanchez was booked at the Sonoma County jail, while the two juvenile suspects were booked at the county juvenile detention facility.
