“Two suspects have been identified and arrested in connection with the homicide that occurred in the City of San Marcos on January 4, 2023. One of the suspects is 15 and the other is 17 years old. Both juveniles are male.
On January 31, 2023, with the assistance of local law enforcement, the 17-year-old was located and arrested near the 4200 block of Van Buren Blvd., Riverside.
This morning, just after 7:00 am, the 15-year-old was arrested at his residence in the City of Oceanside. At this stage of the investigation, it appears the suspects did not know the victims; however, we believe the reason for them meeting was for the illegal sale of vape products. The motivation and circumstances are still under investigation.
Both juvenile suspects were booked into the East Mesa Juvenile Detention Facility on two counts of 187(a)PC – Murder.
