MARIN CITY — A suspect from Suisun City is under investigation for a recent shooting incident in Marin City. Meanwhile, he was taken into custody on outstanding warrants for an unrelated murder, attempted robbery, and carrying a loaded firearm in Solano County.
The Marin County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple reports of gunfire February 6 shortly after 6 p.m. Witnesses pointed out the suspect’s car as it was leaving a parking lot on the 200 block of Drake Avenue in Marin City. Shell casings were found nearby, but no one was reported injured.
A deputy attempted a traffic stop, believing the driver was involved in the shooting. The driver sped away southbound on Highway 101 into San Francisco. With deputies and California Highway Patrol officers in pursuit, the driver turned around and drove northbound towards Marin.
The pursuit lasted until the suspect’s vehicle crashed into other motorists on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. One motorist involved sustained minor injuries.
Jonathan M. Poole, a 23-year-old barista from Suisun City, was arrested February 6 at 6:55 p.m. Poole was booked into Marin County Jail. An adult passenger with a 10-year-old child were unharmed and released at the scene.
Poole who is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond faces open charges in Marin County. His charges include child cruelty and evading an officer/causing injury. In a prepared statement the sheriff’s office said. “Poole was not arrested in connection with the (Marin City) shooting while the investigation continues.”
In Solano County Poole faces charges for –
- First-degree murder
- Attempted robbery
- Carrying a loaded firearm
- Evading a police officer.
