“Teamwork was at its finest this past week, as Placer County Sheriff’s deputies were led on a vehicle pursuit in the Auburn area that ultimately led to the suspect’s arrest.
Deputies on patrol received a message from our dispatch center alerting them to a suspect who stole a pickup truck from a Home Depot store, in Roseville. The suspect was first spotted by a deputy on Interstate 80, near Lincoln Way. A pursuit ensued, where the suspect began driving recklessly, exceeding 100 miles an hour. Because of how recklessly the suspect was driving, deputies terminated the pursuit in the interest of the safety of drivers on the road. Deputies continued to work with allied agencies to develop more information on the suspect and learned he had crashed into another vehicle along eastbound Interstate 80 and taken off. Responding deputies began searching around the area and spotted the suspect again – this time, he had exited the stolen truck and began running across Interstate 80 near Rollins Lake Road. Deputies pursued the suspect along with K-9 Sonic, who tracked the suspect’s scent until he located him hiding in a thick, wooded area. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Blake Cline of Foresthill, was treated by paramedics at the scene and then transported to jail. Cline was arrested for obstructing a peace officer, receiving a stolen vehicle, and committing a felony while out on bail.”
