“On February 3rd, 2023, at approximately 10:55 PM, Officers responded to the emergency room at Regional Medical Center for an adult male gunshot victim that was self-transported. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the victim was shot at a residence in the 2000 block of Pepper Way in San José. Evidence of a shooting was discovered and collected at the residence.
On February 4th, at approximately 3:00 PM, the victim succumbed to his injury and was declared deceased at the hospital.
Homicide Detectives began a comprehensive and thorough investigation into this incident; the suspect was identified as Anthony Samaro, a resident of San José. The suspect was arrested by Patrol Officers in San José on February 4, 2023. The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
This was the City’s 3rd homicide of 2023.
