Man with Outstanding Felony Warrant Arrested in Corning

A man with a felony warrant was arrested on drug charges on January 30th in the parking lot of an Economy Inn in Corning, California.
According to a press release by Corning Police Department, Mario Rivera, reportedly wanted on a felony warrant, was seen driving a red Dodge pick-up truck in the area of 945 Highway 99.
Aware of Rivera’s felony warrant and that he was on Post-Release Community Supervision, officers attempted to catch up with him. Rivera turned into the Economy Inn parking lot in an attempt to evade officers.
Upon exiting his vehicle, Rivera was ordered to stop by the officers and was subsequently arrested without incident. A search of Rivera’s person and vehicle revealed a bag of suspected methamphetamine (pictured right), digital scales, and drug paraphernalia.
Rivera was ultimately arrested and booked into the Tehama County jail.
