“Over a three-day period, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, partnering law enforcement agencies, social services, and advocacy groups participated in a statewide operation called Reclaim and Rebuild. The operation focuses on rescuing victims of human trafficking, identifying and arresting their captors, and disrupting the demand for these vulnerable victims.
In total, 58 men and women were arrested for an array of felony and misdemeanor charges including, prostitution, pimping, violation of sex offender registration, attempting to contact a minor with the intent to commit a felony and human trafficking. 8 women requested help and received services from law enforcement and advocacy groups.
Operation Reclaim and Rebuild was conducted from January 22nd through January 28th in observance of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. The operation saw participation from 82 law enforcement agencies across the state. Nearly 400 people were arrested, and 125 adults were identified as victims of human trafficking.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office is devoted to collaborating with our law enforcement partners, social services, and advocacy groups to continue combating the exploitation of people through human trafficking channels.
