Merced Woman Arrested for Alleged Fentanyl Sales, Child Endangerment

MERCED, CA – On February 11, 2023, the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit arrested a 28-year-old woman for the alleged sale of fentanyl and child endangerment.
According to a press release, an officer with the Merced Police Department’s Gang Unit followed up on information regarding suspected fentanyl sales on the 3000 block of El Capitan Avenue.
Upon serving a search warrant at the residence of Jesi Platz, officers found approximately 50 grams of fentanyl, packaging material, and scales. They also discovered large amounts of ammunition and several replica firearms in holsters, police said.
A child was also discovered in the home was detained and turned over to Child Protective Services.
Platz was arrested on suspicion of sales of narcotics, child endangerment, operating a house in which narcotics are sold and used, and for possession of ammunition by a prohibited person. She was booked into the Merced County Jail on these charges, as well as an outstanding warrant regarding a prior narcotic sales arrest, police said.
