Law enforcement officials in San Bernardino County have seized a significant amount of illegal drugs and firearms in connection with Operation Consequences, a county-wide crime suppression effort aimed at disrupting criminal street gangs and reducing violent crime.
On Saturday, February 25th, deputies from the Hesperia Police Department served a search warrant in the 16400 block of Allthorn Street, in Hesperia, where they discovered and seized over 74 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.75 pounds of heroin, and 13 ounces of fentanyl. During the search, deputies also recovered two loaded firearms, ammunition, and high-capacity magazines. Two suspects were arrested during the operation.
Just a few days later, on Tuesday, February 28th, investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, along with deputies from patrol stations, served a search warrant in the 14900 block of Hopland Street, in Victorville. The search resulted in the discovery and seizure of 3.17 pounds of Ecstasy pills and two pounds of methamphetamine. Additionally, approximately $17,000 in illegal narcotics proceeds, four firearms, ammunition, and two pill press machines were found and seized. One arrest was made during the operation.
The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors has authorized funds to support Operation Consequences, which is focused on conducting targeted crime suppression operations in the High Desert and the Sheriff’s jurisdiction surrounding the city of San Bernardino. The operation involves personnel from the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, and Patrol Stations, as well as the California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
The operation will last several months and aims to curb violent crime, disrupt and dismantle targeted criminal street gangs, and locate and arrest individuals who are illegally possessing, manufacturing, and trafficking firearms. The goal of the operation is to provide additional funding to the Sheriff’s Department, allowing for increased law enforcement services related to quality-of-life issues affecting the communities in San Bernardino County.
Operation Consequences is an important step in reducing crime in San Bernardino County and ensuring the safety of its residents. Law enforcement officials are committed to continuing these efforts and working together to make communities in the county safer for everyone.
