ANTIOCH — Bartley Hall, a 37-year-old resident of Antioch, was arrested for allegedly stabbing a pregnant woman and two children. Hall is consequently being held behind bars in lieu of $1.6 million bond at the Martinez Detention Facility.
Police began receiving reports of a disturbance on the 100 block of Wilbur Avenue on March 18 shortly before 4 p.m. Shortly afterward, police received a report that victims were being stabbed at the same location.
Officers arriving on the scene saw vehicle speeding away from the neighborhood. One officer pursued the vehicle, while other officers rendered first aid to three stabbing victims. One is a 35-year-old pregnant woman. The child victims are a 14-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl. All three of them were transported to hospitals for further medical treatment.
The officer in pursuit followed the fleeing suspect who drove into Solano County. The Solano County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol and Fairfield Police Department also joined in the pursuit.
The chase ended when the suspect apparently caused a vehicular collision. Fortunately, no one was reported injured. After receiving a medical evaluation as a precaution, Hall was subsequently arrested. He faces charges for attempted murder and evading police.
Incidentally, Hall was also arrested a few weeks earlier in February for battery and child endangerment.
The investigation of the stabbings remains active. Anyone with information can call Antioch police detective Robert Gerber at 925-481-8297 or email rgerber@antiochca.gov.
