March 15, 2023 – Ventura County, Ca. – Detectives attached to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department West County Special Enforcement Unit (SEU), working in concert with the Camarillo Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit, Thousand Oaks Division Detectives, and Fillmore Division Detectives, have been on the trail of 42-year-old Ventura resident Joseph Guinn since February of this year when they began investigating a rash of burglaries from storage unit facilities in the city of Thousand Oaks.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Deputy Matt Smith, SEU detectives, on March 9th , pursuant to “multiple felony arrest warrants” for Guinn, located him living with his girlfriend, 38-year-old Kerri Kenyon in Saticoy, the unincorporated east county area. While surveilling the residence, detectives spotted Guinn and Ken Guinn and Kenyon driving away and promptly “conducted an enforcement stop.”
As soon as Guinn realized the cops were on his tail, he “tossed a loaded firearm out of the vehicle.” Both Guinn and Kenyon were taken into custody, and the jettisoned weapon immediately became a nice piece of evidence as it was “secured” by detectives.
A search of Guinn’s vehicle promptly ensued, leading to the discovery of methamphetamine, “additional narcotics,” and drug paraphernalia.
Both Guinn and Kenyon were transported to Ventura County Jail, where they were booked on multiple firearms and drug violations, including possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and multiple counts of felony burglary.
As they were being hustled off to jail, SEU detectives served a search warrant on Guinn’s residence, where they met 60-year-old Saticoy resident John Henry, who just happened to be in possession of an unregistered rifle, ammunition, and methamphetamine, which earned him a trip to jail on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance with a firearm.
