Kern County Man Arrested for Alleged Narcotics and Weapons Possession, Felony Warrant
A Kern County man with a felony warrant has been arrested following a traffic stop in which drugs were allegedly found in the vehicle.
On Monday, March 28th, deputies from the East Area Substation Section were dispatched to assist a California Highway Patrol Officer on a traffic stop with a felony warrant suspect in the city of Boron, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
The warrant suspect, identified as James Floyd, a 51-year-old male from Boron, was taken into custody. Following the arrest, a search of the vehicle was conducted which revealed a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, the Sheriff’s Office said.
A subsequent probation search was conducted at Floyd’s residence located on the 26000 block of Hampton Road, which reportedly uncovered a stolen motorcycle, several firearms, ammunition, additional suspected methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Floyd had a prior felony conviction and was prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition.
As a result of the joint investigation, Floyd was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail on charges of an ex-felon in possession of firearms, ex-felon in possession of ammunition, possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine, possession of stolen property, misdemeanor drug charges, and his active Felony arrest warrant.
