Man Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder in Connection to Shooting at Santa Ana Bar

An Orange County man has been arrested in connection to an alleged shooting that injured a woman at a Santa Ana bar.
According to a press release by the Santa Ana Police Department, the Police Communications received a report of a shooting inside Proof Bar & Lounge located on North Broadway just after 1 AM on Sunday, April 16. Officers quickly arrived on the scene and found a female adult victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to her upper torso. The officers administered first aid until the Orange County Fire Authority arrived, and the victim was transported to a local hospital.
The victim’s current condition is stable, police said.
Witnesses provided a suspect description to the police, leading to the detention of 22-year-old Armando Alvarez in the area of 5th Street and Sycamore Avenue. Officers reportedly found a firearm in Alvarez’s possession. Alvarez was soon identified as the primary suspect in the shooting and taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
