“On April 11, 2023, Sacramento Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) Detectives were proactively patrolling the area of Las Palmas Ave., in Sacramento. They determined that a residence in that area was associated with two known gang members, one of which, Tony DIAZ, was on active Sacramento County probation for a prior gun possession case and the other individual was potentially a party to several recent gang shootings involving a rival gang. Detectives observed both individuals outside, near the residence, and went to execute a probation search on DIAZ. He attempted to flee, but was quickly detained without incident. A search revealed a loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun with an attached full-auto switch was located. Two .40 caliber handgun magazines with .40 caliber ammunition attached were also located in the backyard of the residence. During the search of the residence, various firearm accessory parts were also located, indicative of manufacturing and sales of firearms. DIAZ was arrested for violation of probation, resisting arrest and gun related charges.”
