OAKLEY— With assistance from nearby agencies, Oakley police arrested a 30-year-old man after his father was almost stabbed to death. The suspect was subdued by a taser before being taken into custody.
On April 15 at 9:15 a.m., a caller told a police dispatcher their father was being stabbed repeatedly. Officers responded to Stony Hill Court, where they found the victim suffering from stab wounds. Family members told officers the stabbing suspect Bobby Dolton was inside the house alone.
A tourniquet stopped the victim’s bleeding. He was moved outside, until paramedics arrived on the scene. The victim was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment of life- threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, a perimeter was set up around the house. Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputies, Antioch and Brentwood police also responded to assist Oakley PD.
Efforts were made to contact Dolton, but he refused to cooperate. First, officers phoned Dolton, but he refused to come outside and ended the call. Next, officers tried using a loudspeaker. Oakley PD said in a prepared statement. “Dolton was uncooperative of every request made.”
Eventually, officers broke through a locked doorway and searched the house. They found Dolton inside a bedroom, armed with two knives. Officers subdued still uncooperative Dolton with a taser before arresting him.
Dolton remains in custody at the West County Detention Facility in lieu of $300,000 bond. He was booked for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
