Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a distress call from Adventist Health Ukiah Valley Hospital on April 25, 2023, at 7:57 A.M. Medical staff alerted the authorities about an adult female who had been brought in for emergency treatment following a domestic violence incident.
According to the information gathered during the investigation, it was revealed that the adult female had been at home with her boyfriend, identified as Arcadio Mateo Diego, the previous evening. What started as a heated argument quickly escalated into a violent altercation.
During the confrontation, Diego forcefully took hold of the adult female’s cell phone and proceeded to physically assault her, repeatedly pushing and slapping her. The victim attempted to leave the premises at one point, but Diego prevented her from doing so by seizing her wallet and denying her freedom.
The domestic assault persisted throughout the night, with Diego refusing to allow the victim to leave until the following morning. Deputies examining the victim’s injuries corroborated her account of the events, noting that her injuries were consistent with the statements provided during the investigation.
In response to the incident, Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputies proceeded to the town of Philo, where they located and detained Arcadio Mateo Diego.
