“They are at it again, folks. We have received numerous calls today from citizens who have been contacted by a “Sergeant Travis Goodwin” and “Deputy Shawn Williams” threatening them with a warrant arrest if they don’t pay immediately. These are scam calls. Don’t provide any personal information to the callers or make any payment arrangements.
The name of the supposed law enforcement officer may change, but please note:
Mr. Goodwin has been promoted twice and hasn’t been a sergeant for quite some time. Mr. Williams has been enjoying his retirement for several years. And we promise we won’t tell you about a warrant by phone or demand payment to get out of being arrested.
If you have any questions, please let us know, but if you receive one of these calls, please know, it didn’t come from us.”
