Fort Bragg, California – A harrowing incident of child sexual abuse has sent shockwaves through the tight-knit community of Fort Bragg. On May 1, 2023, at approximately 2:41 P.M., deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of possible child sexual abuse in the 17000 block of Oklahoma Lane.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies, accompanied by social workers from Mendocino County Child Protective Services, immediately took action to ensure the safety and well-being of the child involved. The alleged perpetrator in this distressing case was identified as Robert Hrbac, with the victim being a 6-year-old child.
Based on the information obtained during their initial investigation, deputies and social workers had grave concerns regarding the safety of the child. Consequently, she was taken into protective custody by Child Protective Services, a necessary step to ensure her immediate welfare.
The case was subsequently handed over to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau, where specialized detectives began delving deeper into the matter. Over the course of rigorous follow-up investigations spanning from May 1 to May 9, 2023, detectives diligently gathered evidence, ultimately establishing probable cause to arrest Hrbac in connection with the disturbing allegations.
Armed with a search warrant, detectives and deputies executed a meticulously planned operation at Hrbac’s residence on the evening of May 9, 2023, around 10:15 P.M. The execution of the search warrant led to the seizure of numerous electronic devices believed to potentially contain crucial evidence pertaining to the case. These devices will undergo forensic analysis to uncover any additional pertinent information.
Following his arrest, Hrbac was promptly booked into the Mendocino County Jail, where he will remain in custody. The bail amount has been set at $200,000.00, reflecting the gravity of the charges brought against him.
