Marin County Man Arrested for Alleged Drug Sales in Binford Road Area
A Marin County man has reportedly been arrested in connection to the alleged sales of controlled substances out of a homeless encampment on Binford Road.
According to a press release by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, detectives from the Specialized Investigative Unit (SIU) executed a search warrant regarding a man by the name of Terry Kramer (age 60), his VW hatchback, and his RV located on Binford Road on May 19. The investigation was initiated following a tip received by SIU, alleging Kramer’s involvement in the regular sale of methamphetamine in the Binford Road area.
Kramer had previously been quoted and photographed for an article in the New York Post in early May, which focused on the homeless encampment along Binford Road.
During the search, detectives detained Kramer when he parked his VW next to his RV upon returning from Petaluma. A search of Kramer’s person resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine intended for distribution, along with a significant amount of United States currency.
Inside Kramer’s vehicle, detectives reportedly found two short golf clubs wedged between the driver’s seat and door, suggesting they could be used as weapons. Additionally, a steak knife was found in the driver’s door pocket. The driver’s side floorboard contained an open container of malt liquor, and several other cans of malt liquor were scattered throughout the car’s interior. The search also turned up additional US currency, packaging materials, and marijuana allegedly intended for distribution.
A records check on Kramer revealed that he is a convicted felon on Post-Release Community Supervision from Sonoma County, stemming from a narcotics-related offense. His driver’s license was also suspended due to a prior DUI conviction. Upon evaluation at the scene, it was determined that Kramer did not meet the criteria for driving under the influence at the time of contact.
Kramer was ultimately arrested and booked into the Marin County jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, driving with a suspended license, possession of an open container in a vehicle, possession of narcotics, and violation of Post-Release Community Supervision.
It was unclear at press time whether Kramer had retained an attorney.
