Suspected Vehicle Thieves Apprehended in Texas and Sonoma County

Alturas, CA – In a significant breakthrough, deputies from the Modoc County Sheriff’s Office successfully located and recovered a stolen vehicle in the Cedarville area on February 1, 2023. The vehicle, which had been reported stolen from a residence in Alturas on January 6, 2022, held vital clues leading to the discovery of a cache of stolen property from an unreported burglary in Vya, Nevada.
During the recovery operation, deputies stumbled upon thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen items, shedding light on an undisclosed burglary case in Vya, Nevada. This unexpected discovery set off a chain of events that eventually led to the identification of two suspects: Ricardo Quezada and Bryce William Lemonds.
Through meticulous investigation, including witness statements and physical evidence, authorities were able to link Quezada and Lemonds to the stolen vehicle and the stolen property found in Modoc County. Both individuals quickly became the prime suspects in this complex case.
In a recent development, authorities confirmed that significant progress had been made in tracking down the suspects. Bryce William Lemonds was apprehended in Texas. Meanwhile, Ricardo Quezada was arrested in Sonoma County on June 6th, 2023.
