The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a man following a series of bizarre incidents and alleged crimes earlier this week.
According to a press release by the Sheriff’s Office, an alleged assault and robbery incident took place in the vicinity of Table Bluff and South Jetty Roads, prompting a response from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, on the morning of Sunday, June 11. Concurrently, another witness reported an individual attempting to break into a residence, leading to the apprehension of the suspect.
The authorities identified the suspect as 35-year-old Jamael Brandon Lowery, who was reportedly found walking naked on Indianola Reservation Road. Deputies successfully detained Lowery without incident.
During the subsequent investigation, law enforcement officers located and interviewed four victims. One of the victims, identified as a 39-year-old female, told investigators that she had a previous dating relationship with Lowery. According to her statement, while driving to the South Jetty, she noticed a Nissan Altima tailing her.
Upon parking, Lowery allegedly emerged from the Altima and physically assaulted the victim, resulting in minor injuries and damage to her vehicle.
Further incidents unfolded when Lowery reportedly approached an unlocked, occupied vehicle near the Table Bluff Lookout. Lowery allegedly forcibly opened the vehicle’s door, assaulted a 27-year-old female occupant, and took her phone. The victim managed to push Lowery out of the car and drove away to seek help.
In a later encounter, Lowery allegedly targeted a passing vehicle on Table Bluff Road, pounding on the vehicle and attempted to gain access, ultimately causing damage to the driver’s side mirror.
In another separate incident, Lowery allegedly attempted to force his way into a nearby residence through a doggy door. The resident confronted him, prompting Lowery to flee the scene.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has since booked Lowery into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on suspicion of burglary, inflicting corporal injury on a spouse, robbery, assault, battery, damaging a wireless communication device, vandalism, and violation of probation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about this case or related criminal activity to contact the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at (707) 268-2539.
