An alleged attempted murder that transpired on June 2nd in the Forte Ranch condominium community, situated between Santa Barbara and Goleta, has led to the June 7th arrest of four suspects.
Deputies were alerted to a violent altercation at a residential condominium community swimming pool at 3:37 p.m. and were on the scene within minutes. Upon arrival, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department patrol deputies discovered a 20-year-old male victim with severe injuries. According to SBSD Public Information Officer Raquel Zick, the victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, but the exact nature and severity of his injuries “remain uncertain.”
Although the assailants had reportedly fled the vicinity prior to the deputies’ arrival, diligent investigation by detectives enabled them to locate the four suspects at two distinct locations.
That afternoon, deputies apprehended Santa Barbara residents 21-year-old Brandon Tyree Smith, 20-year-old Jordan Alexander Lopez, 21-year-old Michael Christian Lee, and 19-year-old Jude Issam Hallal. According to Zick, “detectives do not believe this was a random attack as the suspects and victim are known to each other.”
All four suspects were transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where they were charged attempted murder, robbery, and conspiracy, with their bail amounts set at $2 million each.
